Suzanne Simard is a professor of forest ecology at the University of British Columbia. Her latest book is “Finding the Mother Tree” (May 2021). Simard’s life and work were the primary inspiration for a central character in Richard Powers’s 2018 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “The Overstory.”
